Q: What was your life growing up?

A: Grew up on the border of McLean & Arlington, youngest of six kids with four older brothers and one sister. Great Mother who shuttled the kids to all their activities while Father was a busy small business owner as an Architect/Home Builder. Very competitive family, had to be involved in a sport every season. Lots of great memories going to Chesterbrook Pool, becoming life guard and then Assistant Manager, following the same steps as all five older siblings. Early success in the pool had me swimming year-round from ages six to 15. Other stand out memories I remember are from the different sports teams I participated in, including McLean Little League, McLean Youth Football, and McLean High School Football & Lacrosse. I chose Mount Saint Mary’s for college, partly to further my lacrosse career, which was filled unfortunately with injuries, but a great learning experience. I was lucky to meet my spouse, Renee, in college and move back close to where I grew up.

Q: What are you passionate about?

A: Sports, of course! Also, being there for my family, friends, and clients. Having people trust you to help guide them for their financial future is a special connection and I take that responsibility seriously.

Q: Are you involved in the community?

  • Past Membership Committee member for several years at Washington Golf & Country Club, Arlington, VA
  • Over 20 year Member and former President of Optimist Club of Arlington

Q: Why are you in this business?

A: This business is all about being there for your clients and being a resource to them. I love the enduring relationships, the variety in the people I meet, and listening to everyone tell their own story. Also, the financial world is constantly changing, and you have to commit to making continuing education a part of your practice. I enjoy the constant learning, it’s endless.

Q: Hardest part of job?

A: Easy, all the paperwork! But, part of the job.

Q: Where do you see the industry going & how are you adapting?

A: Technology is playing a big part in the industry, both from a practice management sense and in the personal planning, in general. The team is meeting on a weekly basis to discuss how we can better use technology. We have implemented an online financial planning portal that clients can access and update on demand. This has become the centerpiece of our practice. Along with ongoing research on the latest investment options & electronic processing platforms. Technology is moving fast and is constant something we are watching! Chain Bridge moved the practice a couple years ago to Kestra Financial mainly because of their commitment to the Advisor and their approach to changes in technology. They have been on the forefront to adding new technology into the system. It has been a great enhancement to the workflow.
